A Community Space at St Berts
Nr Runcorn
RIBA Stages 0-6
Planning Approved November 2021
The project for St Berts involves the modest redevelopment of a small, modern church in the borough of Halton, Nr Runcorn. The project focus is on improved accessibility, a more welcoming entrance, improved flexible community spaces to include kitchen and cafe, training and counselling spaces. This is a project that has emerged through substantial community collaboration with a wide variety of organisations to deliver significant improvements to the building, keeping hold of an ambitious vision that can be delivered within a tight budget. The design reflects the aesthetic of modern church architecture; is open, calm and simple, connecting previous introverted spaces to the tree canopies that surround the site, allowing light and framed view into the spaces and activity.
The project is due to be delivered in 2022/23
